Scene/Change began in April 2020 as an urgent response to the global pandemic. What started as an email conversation, Dialogue in Strange Times, quickly evolved into a movement that would connect the theatre design community at a critical moment.

Today, we are a collective of set and costume designers advocating for the importance of our craft and creating opportunities for peer support, learning, and collaboration.

We believe that designers are the builders of the worlds you see on stage, shaping visual narratives that connect people, places, and stories. Scene/Change exists to support these creators and ensure that the theatre ecosystem recognises the value of design in every performance.
